From the beginning, I found great joy in opening my home and beautiful garden to visitors from near and far. Over the years, I have had the privilege of hosting guests from around the world, many of whom have returned again and again, becoming part of the Marie BnB story.

What started as a simple idea—to transform a family home in a peaceful Stellenbosch neighbourhood into a welcoming guesthouse—has grown into a rewarding journey. While there were challenges along the way, every step was worthwhile and helped shape the warm, inviting space that guests enjoy today.

One of the most rewarding aspects of running a guesthouse has been meeting people from different countries and cultures. I enjoy helping guests discover the beauty of Stellenbosch, sharing local knowledge about our historic town, its renowned wine estates, excellent restaurants, unique attractions, and the many experiences waiting to be explored in the surrounding areas.

Over the years, both the guesthouse and self-catering apartment have been thoughtfully renovated and improved to ensure every stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

In 2024, Pieter Nel joined me in managing the guesthouse, and together we continue to provide warm hospitality, personal service, and careful attention to the individual needs of our guests.

Our goal is simple: to make every guest feel genuinely welcome, comfortable, and at home. The greatest compliment we can receive is when guests return to what they lovingly call their “home away from home.”
